In a formal communication addressed to the Election Commission of Pakistan, Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Ishaq Dar on Thursday requested a two-day extension in the deadline for the submission of nomination papers in anticipation of the upcoming general elections.
In a letter shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Ishaq Dar, who serves as the chairman of the PML-N’s election cell, pointed out a discrepancy in the schedule. He noted that while only three days had been allocated for the filing of nomination papers, a substantial seven-day period had been designated for the scrutiny of the same.
Dar emphasized the time-consuming nature of the nomination process, involving multiple details and required documents, including NOCs/NECs from various public sector departments.
