Khyber Pakhtunkhwa maintains the grim milestone of most deaths from the deadly Corona Virus in the country as the death toll from the Covid-19 in the province is close to touching alarming 400 figure with eight more deaths and tally of confirmed cases of the pandemic crossing 7,670. Hence, KP continues to be recording highest number of deaths among all the provinces.
The situation in the provincial metropolis Peshawar is more grim that has reported almost two-third of the total deaths in the KP and number of those tested positive for the Novel Corona are nearing 300 in Peshawar where the masses are practically neither maintaining social distancing nor adopting any safety measures.
According to the latest data shared by the KP Health Department more than 300 new cases were confirmed in the province during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 7,670. The new infections include 16 from people returning from abroad who have been kept at different quarantine centers. Out of around 20 new deaths, nine have been reported in Peshawar, one each in Noshehra, Mardan, Bajaur, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kohat, and Lakki Marwat.
The Health Department said a total of 2,297 patients have recovered in KP including 99 during the last 24 hours.
A woman coronavirus patient died in Noshehra on Friday. The Deputy Commissioner Shahid Ali Khan said the deceased woman was laid to rest in Gul Baba graveyard under the standard operating procedures. She was the second woman to have succumbed to the virus in Noshehra during the last 24 hours. A woman coronavirus patient, who was under treatment at Qazi Medical Complex in Nowshehra, died on Thursday. Death toll from Covid-19 in Noshehra now stands at 20.
On the other hand the markets in Peshawar were flooded with people mostly ladies who are out for Eid shopping without caring a fig about the severity of the pandemic hence totally ignoring government directives to adopt maximum safety measures and maintain social distancing.
