ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has unveiled its first fully secure mobile phone, designed to protect against data theft and cyberattacks.
Developed under a pilot project by the National Telecommunications Corporation (NTC), this mobile device is specifically tailored for government officials and critical personnel.
The phone’s hardware and software are both locally manufactured, ensuring that the entire system is domestically developed.
One of the key features of the device is that it does not connect to the internet, instead operating on a specially crafted, secure operating system. This significantly reduces the risk of cyberattacks and external breaches.
The mobile phone also runs locally developed applications and supports SIM cards from any telecom operator in Pakistan.
Additionally, the phone lacks a backup feature, making it nearly impossible to retrieve data in the event of theft or security breaches.
The NTC officials, the phone’s communication cannot be monitored or intercepted, ensuring that sensitive government communications remain fully secure.
