Former federal minister Nisar A Memon has urged the federal, provincial and local governments to immediately withdraw all politically motivated cases against individuals.

In a message on the occasion of Eid, he said: “Our motherland is currently facing unprecedented challenges, so in these times, let us follow Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s teachings emphasizing unity, faith and discipline, and recommit ourselves to actions to save Pakistan.”

Mr Memon said that the newly elected Senate, National and Provincial Assemblies must uphold their oath to defend and work in accordance with the Constitution, implementing it in its true spirit. He said that all constitutional bodies should act strictly within the limit of the law and Constitution, setting aside partisan and ethnic biases so as to build a self-sufficient independent nation. Mr Memon urged political parties to set aside their differences and refrain from fostering divisions in society, and instead unite in the fight against terrorism.

“We must ensure the safety of our children in schools, citizens on the streets, soldiers on the borders, and law enforcement agencies during on and off duty across the country,” he concluded.
