Nigar Award plays prominent role in film industry promotion: Tessori

Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori expressed that the Nigar Award has played a prominent role in the advancement and promotion of the film industry. He noted that the history of the film industry reflects a lack of encouragement and recognition for artists and creators in its early stages. However, with the initiation of the Nigar Awards, a continuous series of successful films began, bringing encouragement and appreciation to those in the limited resources of the film industry.

This was highlighted during the special guest celebration at the Governor House in Karachi on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Nigar Awards. Information Minister Sindh Muhammad Ahmed Shah praised the invaluable services of Nigar Award’s founder, Elias Rashdi, stating that the award and Nigar newspaper have held significant importance in the film industry.

On this occasion, the Platinum Jubilee Nigar Award was presented to Imtiaz Ul Haq Bukhari, CEO of Bukhari Group of Companies, recognizing his outstanding social and cultural contributions. Imtiaz Ul Haq Bukhari expressed that receiving the Nigar Award is an honor for artists, and this accolade is now bestowed upon the Bukhari Group of Companies. The Chief Executive of Nigar, Islam Elias, emphasized the longstanding relationship with syed Imtiaz Ul Haq Bukhari, expressing ongoing collaboration and encouragement.

The ceremony also awarded multiple artists, including anchor Ali Raza, Shahkar Naqvi, Advocate Zaid Mujahid, Advocate Nawab Al-Din, Advocate Ayub, Advocate Liaqat Ali, Dr. Nasaga, Ashraf Iqbal, Anwar Mirza, Zeeshan Sadiq, Muhammad Naseer, Syed Javaid Bakhari, singer Yusuf Roshan, Atar Javed Sufi, Ephraim, Sajid Yezdani, actor Asad Nazir, Talal Shah, Khurram Arif Rizvi, Ali Hasan, Irfan Malik, producer Saeed Ahmed Saeed, Ghulam Mustafa Solangi, Bilal Naqvi, GMPTV Karachi Center Amjad Hussain Shah, Marza Iftikhar Beg, and others.

Provincial Minister Muhammad Ahmed Shah, film star Mumtaz Begum, director Zahid Shah, music composer Yunus Hamdam, Kashif Khan, Hanif Raja, Hassan Jhangir, and other personalities were also honored with awards on this occasion.
