National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) on Sunday hoisted national flag at Ravi Toll Plaza in connection with 75th Independence Day of Pakistan.
NH&MP DIG Mehboob Aslam, Road Master Managing Director Faisal Javed Sheikh, Almarah Foundation Sofia Waraich hoisted the national flag with the echo of national anthem. The NH&MP police presented salute.
Addressing the ceremony, DIG Mehboob Aslam on behalf of NH&MP congratulated the nation on the 75th independence day of Pakistan.
He said: “Our forefathers rendered great sacrifices for the creation of an independent homeland for the Muslims of sub-continent, and now we must play our role for the development of the country”.
Citing the statements of Quad-e-Azam “There is no power on earth that can undo Pakistan” he said that Motorway Police always ensured protection and safety of people on roads and motorways.
The DIG said: “We should give a strong message to the entire world that Pakistan is an independent nation.” He said the NH&MP was providing three type of services to the public which were- law and order, education and help to people, adding that NH&MP were going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Road Master Transport Company (RMTC) to ensure maximum road safety on the national highway and motorways. Later, a MoU was signed between NHMP and Road Master Transport Company.
DIG Mehboob Aslam and others distributed gift hampers and water bottles to road users. Meanwhile, Flag hoisting ceremonies were held at all campuses of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Sunday to mark the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan.
The main flag-hoisting ceremony was held at Lahore campus where Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Business Management Prof Dr Muhammad Azam along with Registrar Sajjad Hyder hoisted the national flag while faculty members, students, administrative staff and their families attended the ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, Prof Dr Muhammad Azam congratulated the university employees and students on the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan. He highlighted the biography and lifelong struggle of Quid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for attaining of a separate homeland for Muslims.
He urged them to work hard with honesty and dedication for the progress of the country. On the occasion, Sajjad Hyder said: “We must remember the services of our elders who sacrificed their lives for a separate homeland”.
“Two nation theories became the basis of Pakistan creation and we thank to Allah Almighty who bestowed us a separate homeland,” he added.
Moreover, National flag hoisting ceremony to mark the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan was held at Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) head office here on Sunday.
Chief Operating Officer Muhammad Kamran Khan hoisted the national flag. Police communication officers and other staff members were also present. COO PSCA, Operations Commander PPIC3 and other officers also cut a cake to mark the day.
Addressing the participants, the PSCA COO said: “We should remember the sacrifices of our forefathers who laid down their lives for a separate homeland for Muslims of sub-continent.”
The PSCA was trying its level best to make the country safe and secure, he added. Furthermore, a flag hoisting function to mark the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan was held at National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) training centre New Kot Lakhpat here on Sunday.
NTDC Managing Director Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan unfurled the national flag followed by the national anthem.
General Managers, Chief Engineers and other senior officers, employees and their children also attended the ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, the NTDC MD Engr Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan, highlighted the importance of independence and stressed the need for playing role for the development and prosperity of the country.
He urged the NTDC officers and staff to serve the organization with integrity, honesty and dedication for the progress of the country.
