NGO brings relief to prisoners hit by cold snap

As masses struck by extreme weather and the prisoners languishing behind the bars due to use of drugs are hit hard and failed to coup the harsh chilly weather due to their poor immune system- a Taxila based nongovernmental organization (NGO) come forward to provide them blankets among the prisoners of Attock jail.
Blankets distributed among the inmates of the district jail Attock on Monday. A function was held in the prison to distribute the items arranged by a Taxila based nongovernmental organization (NGO) Bright future welfare trust. Chairman Bright future welfare trust Naveed Arif Paracha speaking on this occasion has said that the prisoners inducted in drugs use related crimes were in dire need of blankets as they need extra warmth due to their poor immune system and they cannot bear the brunt of harsh chilly weather.
He said the NGO will also manage for the release of prisoners with petty crimes by the payment of their fines with the help of philanthropists. “We should hate the crime and not those who have committed the crimes”. He added.
He said that it is third initiative by the NGO to provide relief and does the charity work in the district. Talking about future projects, he said that said the organization would distribute free warm clothes and shoes among the students of government schools after the schools are opened this month. Deputy Superintendent Jail Afzal Ahmed Warriach on the occasion thanked the foundation for arranging the items for the prisoners on the eve of the winter season.
