LAHORE- Newly elected Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, paid a visit to the graves of her grandparents, grandmother, and father at Jati Umra before heading to the provincial assembly.
Maryam Nawaz was observed offering prayers and reciting Fatiha at the graves, seeking blessings from the Almighty Allah.
Following her visit to the graves and offering Fatiha, CM Maryam proceeded to the Punjab Assembly session. Upon her arrival at the assembly, she received a warm welcome from party leaders and supporters.
Subsequently, as the session commenced, the voting process initiated, culminating in her victory as the first female Chief Minister of Punjab.
Earlier, she lauded ASP Sheherbano Naqvi for saving a woman from a violent mob in Ishra.
Maryam Nawaz said that ASP Naqvi demonstrated courage, wisdom, and responsibility.
“If ASP Gulberg Shehrbano Naqvi had not arrived in time, there was a risk of an incident. Shehrbano, thank you! We are all proud of you,” said Maryam in a statement.
The CM nominee also said that facing pressure, numbers, and circumstances, she upheld both the law and the humanity.
Maryam said, “I hope every member of the police force will play their role in protecting the lives and property of the people with the same dedication,”.
