New Inspector General of Punjab police Rao Sardar Ali Khan has decided to engage a heavy platoon of senior police officers in his personal staff, sources in IG office said on Tuesday.
They said that instead of focusing of deteriorated law and order situation he has prioritized to engaged more senior officers in his personal staff.
Sources in IGP office claimed that despite dozens of additional IGs, DIGs and AIGs, a personal army of senior and junior staff was formed in the personal staff of IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan.
IG’s per-sonal staff will now have one DIG, one AIG, one SSP, one SP, 2 DSPs and 2 branches instead of PSOs. According to the details, the IG’s personal staff PSO and the small branch which used to handle all the affairs have now been replaced by a large number of police officers, who will carry out IG orders, sum-maries, notices, meetings and coordination.
Former IG Anam Ghani had issued orders for postings of above said officers as his personal staff.
