PESHAWAR – After Punjab and Sindh, another provincial government has decided to launch an electric bike scheme for working women and female students to provide them an independent transport facility.
This time, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and his cabinet has approved the EV bike project 2026 for women across the province.
However, it was not revealed how many electric motorcycles will be distributed by the provincial government
EV Bike on Merit
Addressing the cabinet meeting, the chief minister announced that the electric bikes will be distributed among female students and workers on merit.
Launch Date
The KP chief minister said the EV bike scheme 2026 will be launched soon. However, he did not provide the exact date to launch the initiative. Stay tuned with Pakistan Observed for further updates about launching of the programme.
Where to Apply
The provincial government will share the details regarding submitting application once the programme if official launched.
The chief minister also announced plans to introduce an electric rickshaw scheme after the rollout of the electric bike programme. He said electric rickshaws would contribute to a cleaner and greener environment.
Punjab E-Bike Scheme
Earlier, the Punjab government announced the e-bike scheme for students. As per the rules, the students, currently enrolled as ‘regular’ students in degree programs of any university/ graduate college in the Punjab (public or private), duly recognized by the HEC, were eligible to apply for Bikes under the scheme.
The bonafide status as regular student of the applicant shall be verified by the authorities of the educational institution concerned.
