Former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi stated on Saturday he did not commit corruption of even a rupee and he did not understand why the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) had brought bogus corruption cases against him. The PTI Punjab chapter chief asserted that all his life he worked honestly and devoted himself to public service.
Parvez Elahi criticised the former prime minister, implying that unlike Shehbaz Sharif’s service [focusing on the establishment], his service focused on the people of Pakistan. The former chief minister said he spent the entire night in ACE custody and he only came to know about his name having been added to the recovery list when he came up to the district and sessions court. He alleged that ACE officials were only up to getting their jobs secured, recalling that it was he who had offered more jobs [than anyone else had] during his tenure as the chief minister.—Staff Reporter
