Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called Britain as the “Islamic Republic of Britain” while discussing Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
Netanyahu defended his own Jewish state and made an attempt to damage Muslims world by giving such statement.
Speaking during a recent interview, Netanyahu said, “You might call Britain the ‘Islamic Republic of Britain,’” in an apparent reference to what he described as Britain’s changing political climate and its stance toward Israel.
Netanyahu then linked his remarks to the issue of nuclear weapons, saying that someone had described the first Islamic republic with nuclear weapons as the “Islamic Republic of Britain.”
“We’re making sure there won’t be another one—you know, in Iran,” he said, reiterating Israel’s determination to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
The comments came amid heightened tensions between Israel and Iran and growing disagreements between Israel and Britain over the Gaza conflict and broader Middle East policy.
Netanyahu’s remarks have drawn attention and criticism, particularly because Britain is a nuclear-armed state but is not an Islamic republic. His comments also revived debate over Israel’s position on nuclear proliferation in the region.
Many experts believe that Netanyahu has started another hatred campaign against Islamic world by giving such statement. They say that Israeli PM’s statement reflects that Jews strongly believe that they are superior than all other nations, religions and people .
Gaza issue, they say, has slipped away from the limelight after war against Iran as focus on people have now shifted to Iran instead of Israeli bombardment in Gaza.
