The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Wednesday approved to cut the electricity price by 43 paisa per unit under the quarterly fuel adjustment charges. The consumers will be given a relief of over Rs 4 billion.
Hearing on Central Power Purchasing Agency’s plea to cut electricity price by 84 paisas per unit under the quarterly fuel adjustment charges was held in Nepra.
Nepra approved to decrease electricity price by Rs 43 paisa per unit. The new price will be implemented in the coming month after issuance of a formal notification by the Nepra.
The Nepra has said in its statement that an extra burden of Rs 65.5 million from LNG deficiency, Rs 151.9 million from running plants not in accordance with merit order was recorded
