Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid and Provincial Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht reviewed the status of facilities and way forward for improvement at Sheikh Zayed Hospital (SZH) Rahim Yar Khan in a meeting at Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department here on Thursday.
Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi, Special Secretary SH&ME Ajmal Bhatti, Additional Secretary Finance, Additional Secretary South Punjab Secretariat Dr Hafiz Shahid Latif, Deputy Commissioner Rahim Yar Khan, Principal and Board of Management members Sheikh Zayed Medical College and other officials also attended the meeting.
Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid and the Finance Minister reviewed measures to improve service delivery at the hospital.
On the occasion, Dr Yasmin Rashid said: “This is the final chance for the administration of Sheikh Zayed Hospital to improve performance. All public complaints must be immediately addressed.”
She declared that the issue of doctors shortage must be resolved, adding that in case public complaints continue against the hospital administration, strict disciplinary action will be taken.
“Negligence in treatment of patients is unacceptable. In 10 days we will again hold a review meeting to assess performance of Sheikh Zayed Hospital administration.”
Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bukht said that problems of the public have to be addressed on priority as per directions of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
Doctors must perform their duty with honesty and diligence. He said that improved healthcare services will be provided to people of Punjab.
