Need of trauma management increased manifold in prevailing situation: Zafar

Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute & Ameer Uddin Medical College (PGMI/AMC), Prof. Dr. Sardar Muhammad Al-fred Zafar has said that due to increasing population, industrial development and heavy traffic, accidents have increased day by day due to which human lives are at risk and deaths are also increasing rapidly.

He added that in this context the importance and need for Trauma Management has increased manifold for which young doctors should adopt modern requirements and latest techniques occurred in the medical field and save lives of citizens.

These views were expressed by him while addressing the participants of a 6th training workshop on “Early Management of Trauma” organized by the Department of General Surgery Unit-I of Lahore General Hospital in which more than 100 young doctors from hospitals across the province participated. HoD Surgery Prof. Farooq Afzal, ED PINS Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Prof. Arshad Cheema, Prof. Judat Saleem, Prof. Shoaib Nabi, Prof. Hanif Mian, Prof. Asif Bashir, Prof. Haroon Majeed, Dr. Imran Khokhar and Aafia gave lectures to young doctors on “Early Trauma Management” and also provided practical training for the participants.
