Nawaz, Shehbaz discuss ministries, portfolios for party leaders, allies

LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)  Supremo Nawaz Sharif and President Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday deliberated upon allocation of ministries and different portfolios among the party leaders and allies.

The sources said that Shahbaz Sharif briefed Nawaz Sharif about his meetings with various allies. 

During the meeting, discussions were held on potential names for the expected federal cabinet.

After  formation of the government, there is a possibility of forming a 25-members federal cabinet.

Three to five federal ministries will be allocated to MQM-P.

From MQM-P side, the names of Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar, Syed Mustafa Kamal, Syed Aminul Haque, and Khawaja Izharul Hassan are under discussion.

The sources said that 15 senior PML-N leaders’ names are being considered for federal ministers. 

Shahbaz Sharif has already been named by Nawaz Sharif for the office of the Prime Minister.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, and Maryam Aurangzeb are being considered for the federal cabinet while Ataullah Tarar may also be included in the federal cabinet.

Furthermore, Riaz ul Haq Judge, Bilal Azhar Kiyani, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Laghari, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Raja Qamar Islam, and Rana Tanveer Hussain are also under consideration for federal ministers.
