Claiming that number one priority for former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif was Pakistan, PML-N leader Captain (r) Safdar said on Monday that Nawaz would return to Pakistan soon to save the country.

“After all, this is the question of Pakistan’s security,” he said while talking to reporters outside court in Gujranwala where he had gone to attend the hearing of a case against him. He said that attacks carried out on government and military installations on May 9 were the handiwork of the country’s enemy.

“The incidents of violence witnessed on that day are a slur on our country’s integrity,” he said, adding, “We will make the nation realize that what India failed to do during the last 75 years was done on the instructions of PTI Chief Imran Khan on a single day.” Safdar went on to say it was unfortunate that the country’s young generation which had been groomed to participate in ‘Ghazwae Hind’, was used for an attack on the GHQ.

“PTI is not a political party but an organization of extremists,” he claimed, adding, “Political parties are those which made the country a nuclear power, and are now trying to save the country.

Earlier, the court adjourned hearing of the case of inciting people to violence filed against the PML-N leader until July 17. The case had been registered against him at Satellite police station of Gujranwala on October 2, 2020.

On the hand Prime Minister’s Coordinator Khawaja Ahmed Hassan said on Monday the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government was determined to steering the country out of prevailing crises and it would come up to people’s expectations.

He was addressing a meeting, called to review the ongoing development work in the city and arrangements in connection with the Eidul Azha at the Aiwan Iqbal Complex. With sincere efforts of the government, the country would get out of the prevailing crises soon, he said adding that the leadership would mitigate the effects of the damage.—NNI
