Provincial Minister for Energy, Development, and Planning, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, chaired an important meeting at the Energy Department office to address ongoing complaints regarding corruption, excess, and fake electricity bills in HESCO and SEPCO regions. Minister Shah stated that he has been receiving numerous complaints about inflated and fraudulent bills from these power companies, leading to significant financial losses for the province of Sindh.

He further highlighted that in some cases, large bills were being issued even when electricity consumption was nonexistent, and these bills were being paid without proper verification. In response to the issue, the Minister directed the formation of an inquiry committee led by the Additional Secretary of the Power Energy Department to identify the individuals responsible for the irregularities.

The committee has been tasked with submitting a report soon. Nasir Shah emphasized that those involved in corruption would face strict legal consequences, stressing that there would be no leniency.  Minister for Energy, Development, and Planning, Syed Nasir Hussain Shahalso insisted that while accurate bills should be paid, any fraudulent charges must be thoroughly investigated.

The meeting was attended by Secretary of the Energy Department Musaddiq Ahmed Khan, Additional Secretary Hafeez Ansari, and other senior officers.
