ISLAMABAD – British High Commissioner Jane Marriott met Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday to discuss Pakistan–UK relations, security cooperation and matters of mutual interest, including the repatriation of Pakistanis living illegally in the United Kingdom.
According to the Interior Ministry, Minister Naqvi handed over Pakistan’s official extradition documents for Shehzad Akbar and Adil Raja, urging that both individuals be immediately returned to Pakistan.
He told the envoy that both men are “wanted in Pakistan” and that their prompt extradition is essential.
Naqvi also provided evidence against the two Pakistani nationals accused of running propaganda campaigns from abroad.
He said that while Pakistan fully upholds freedom of expression, fake news poses a challenge for every country, and no state can allow its citizens to malign national institutions from foreign soil.
The minister welcomed potential UK cooperation in facilitating the return of individuals involved in anti-Pakistan campaigns. He confirmed that the Interior Ministry, through the Foreign Office, has formally initiated the extradition process for both men.
The meeting also reviewed mechanisms for the repatriation of Pakistanis residing unlawfully in Britain. Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha and senior officials attended the meeting.
