Naqvi inaugurates Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed flyover

Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed Flyover, a significant infrastructure project spanning 742 meters with three lanes.

The inauguraation ceremony, attended by cabinet members and Corps Commander Lahore Lt. Gen. Syed Aamer Raza, marked the opening of the flyover to the public, accomplished in an impressive 90 days instead of the initially estimated 150 days. During the event, CM drove a vehicle, accompanied by Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Syed Aamer Raza, taking a tour of the flyover.

The CM appreciated the high construction standard of the mega project which is the latest addition to a signal-free corridor from Barkat Market Garden Town to Defence Morr Walton. The completed flyover now enables a reduced travel time from DHA Phase-VI to Liberty within 15 minutes, and access to Walton Road is achieved in just five minutes.

Addressing the ceremony, the CM congratulated the Lahorites on the completion of the flyover in a record period which would ease the movement of 2 lakh vehicles daily. Besides NLC and NESPAK, which worked round the clock, ministers and secretaries teams continuously visited the project for regular monitoring; the CM said and appreciated that everyone played a role. The land belonged to the Pak Army and the process was long but weeks’ work was done in days, providing benefits to adjoining localities. Meanwhile, the CM added that the Walton Road project will also be completed by January 31 to provide tremendous relief to the people. The new drainage system, being laid down with Rs.9 billion, will save the people from water accumulation on the roads, he said. The CM thanked Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Syed Aamer Raza for extending full support on every occasion and added that the project has been completed before the stipulated time frame with tremendous hard work. The diplomatic enclave was also being built at CBD which will further develop the area, he concluded. CEO CBD Imran Amin also addressed the function.

Provincial Ministers including Mansoor Qadir, Amir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir, Bilal Afzal, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, chief secretary, IGP, chairman P&D, secretaries of finance, housing & C&W departments, commissioner/ DG LDA, DC Lahore, DG PHA, CTO, administrator DHA, CEO LWMC, DGPR and others were present.
