In a meeting chaired by Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hasan Naqvi, preparations for the upcoming EidMiladUnNabi celebrations were reviewed in detail. The commissioner emphasized that the event will be observed with the utmost respect and devotion across the city. He instructed all relevant institutions to ensure the provision of public services, security, and traffic management during the celebrations.
The meeting saw a detailed briefing from various departments on the arrangements being made. Present at the meeting were key officials, including DIG Police Ghulam AzfarMahesar, COO Water Corporation Asadullah Khan, Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Rabia Syed, representatives from Traffic Police, Pakistan Rangers, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, town administrations, the Executive Director of the Solid Waste Management Board, the Chief Fire Officer, and Cantonment Board officers.
Deputy Commissioners from East and South districts, ShehzadFazalAbbasi and AltafSario, joined the meeting via video link. The DIG East briefed the commissioner on security arrangements, while other officials from the Solid Waste Management Board, Water Corporation, and KMC presented their plans.
They assured that special arrangements for water supply would be made at mosques, processions, and water stalls. It was decided that special cleaning and water supply measures will be implemented along the procession routes, including Faizan-e-Madina mosque, with full consultation with religious scholars and organizers. Representatives from K-Electric also confirmed that uninterrupted power supply will be ensured at mosques, procession routes, and gathering venues during the celebrations. Special personnel will be deployed to maintain cleanliness along the procession routes and at mosques during the celebrations.
