ISLAMABAD – Pakistani citizens are required to obtain the Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) from the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) upon reaching the age of 18 years.
The eligible citizens can visit any nearby Nadra Registration Centre along with required documents to apply for the ID card.
The ID card is mandatory to obtain driving license, NTN, bank account, passport, cellular connection etc. Every citizen of Pakistan, 18 years and above, is eligible for CNIC.
ID Card is directly linked with healthcare by linking medical records and in education by verifying identities for school admissions. It is also essential for getting SIM cards.
Nadra CNIC Fee from January 2025
Nadra, which works under the Ministry of Interior, has made no change in the fee structure for CNIC with the start of the New Year.
In January 2025, the normal fee for a New Smart National Identity Card stands at Rs750. For urgent processing, the fee stands at Rs1,500, while the executive category fee is Rs2,500.
The applicant is required to bring birth certificate or matric result card and CNIC copy of a family member while going to apply for the ID card.
B-Form Fee Update for Jan 2025
Child Registration Certificate is a means of registering a new born with NADRA record. It is the fundamental right of a child to get a registration certificate from the place of origin. NADRA has been able to automate and in turn facilitate the process of acquiring Child Registration Certificates.
As of January 2025, B-Form can be obtained by paying Rs50 regular fee while NADRA also offers executive services at rate of Rs500.
