ISLAMABAD – The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) is going to launch new upgraded B-Form for registration of children aged above 10 years in order curb misuse of their date and human smuggling.
The announcement was made by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, stating that the measures will help curb human smuggling and stealing of children’s data.
He said Nadra in collaboration with the Directorate of Immigration and Passport (DGI&P) will now add children’s fingerprints and photos to the B-Form.
The minister said the new B-Form will be rolled out in the country in phases, starting from January 15, 2025.
What’s New in Special B-Form?
The special B-Form will carry fingerprints and photos of children as previously these were not included in the registration certificate.
Child Registration Certificate or B-Form is a means of registering a new born with NADRA record. It is the fundamental right of a child to get a registration certificate from the place of origin. NADRA has been able to automate and in turn facilitate the process of acquiring Child Registration Certificates.
CRC can be taken by providing documented proof of child birth from union council. Parent is required to be a holder of National Identity Card (NIC)/National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).
NADRA Special B-Form Fee
It is yet to be announced whether there will be a change in fee structure for special B-Form or it will remain same.
Currently, B-Form can be obtained by paying Rs50 regular fee while NADRA also offers executive services at rate of Rs500.
