An assistant director at the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has been detained for illegally issuing Pakistani identity cards to Afghan nationals.

The arrest was made by the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi. According to an FIA spokesperson, Nadeem Ali, the arrested NADRA assistant director, was involved in a scheme to issue identity cards fraudulently in collaboration with his colleagues.

Ali was stationed at the NADRA office in Hospital Chowrangi, Karachi. The FIA’s operation has led to the apprehension of the primary suspect, but ongoing raids aim to identify and capture additional individuals implicated in this illegal activity.
