ISLAMABAD – Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said patience and giving respect to one another are pre-requisites to ensure smooth functioning of the House.
Addressing the eighteenth two-day Speakers conference in Islamabad on Thursday, has underscored the importance of giving equal time and importance to every member, irrespective of party affiliation.
Commenting on the crucial role of political parties’ whips in the proceedings of the house, the Speaker called for the formation of their association as their role is more important than Ministers. He further highlighted the role of standing committees in the parliamentary proceedings.
He urged opposition to record protest in the house, while upholding moral values.
In order to cognizant the youth about the functioning of the parliament, Ayaz Sadiq stressed the need to organize internships for them at the legislative bodies.
Addressing the conference, Speaker Sindh Assembly Awais Qadir Shah said the speaker must be impartial, unbiased and neutral for smooth functioning of the house.
He termed the Speaker’s office as a bridge among the members of house.
Awais Qadir Shah called for taking prudent measures to tackle the issue of misinformation.
