ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted light rain and snowfall in Murree, Galliyat and other tourist destinations in Pakistan on Monday night and Tuesday.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave also prevails over Kashmir and adjoining areas.
Under these weather conditions, light rain and snowfall is predicted in Murree, Galliyat, and other tourist destinations in Gilgit-Batistan and Kashmir on Monday night and Tuesday. Snowfall is also likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Snowfall will likely affect transportation in Murree, Galliyat, Chitral, Dir, Hunza, Astore, Skardu, Gilgit, Rawlakot, and other hilly areas. Tourists are advised to remain cautious.
Murree’s minimum temperature is expected to be between -03 to -01 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Meanwhile, rain and snowfall occurred in Murree and hilly areas of Pakistan during the last 24 hours.

In Murree, the temperature dropped to 2°C below freezing. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 92 percent.
