Murad discusses load-shedding issue with Leghari

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah during his visit to Islamabad called on Federal Minister for Energy, OvaisLeghari. During the meeting CM Murad discussed the concerns regarding unannounced load shedding across Sindh, including Karachi, brought to the forefront. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of HESCO and SEPCO, under the Ministry of Energy, citing the distress caused to the common people due to load shedding.

He emphasized that the inefficiency of these entities cannot be overlooked, particularly when it affects the lives of the impoverished. The session witnessed the Federal Ministry of Energy facing criticism for frequent power outages and delayed bill payments.

Asserting the provincial government’s readiness to extend every possible assistance to the federal authorities, Chief Minister Shah proposed the formation of committees at the provincial and district levels to address issues related to WAPDA and consumer grievances, aiming for effective solutions. The consensus reached between the two sides during the meeting was hailed as a positive step towards resolving the challenges faced in the energy sector. Senior Sindh ministers, including SharjeelInamMemon and Provincial Energy Minister Syed NasirHussain Shah, were also present during the meeting, demonstrating a collaborative effort to tackle the energy crisis in the province.
