Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Sunday said that 93 new cases of coronavirus surfaced in the province during the past 24 hours, while two more patients succumbed to the infection. “389 of the diagnosed patients recovered and discharged from the hospitals. A total of 30 people have died from novel coronavirus across the province so far,” he confirmed in a statement today. The Chief Minister said that during last 24 hours 569 tests were conducted, of them 93 were diagnosed as positive. “The number of tests conducted so far comes to 13309 while tally of the positive cases has risen to 1411,” he said. The chief minister said that during last 24 hours two more patient died and the death toll of reached to 30 or 2.1 percent of the total patients. The number of patients recovered during the last 24 hours is 18, Shah said and added so far 389 patients have recovered and returned to their respective home. The percentage of cured patients in terms of the total positive cases is 28 percent, the chief minister calculated. Giving details of the patients, Shah said that at present 645 were in home isolation, 60 at Isolation Centers and 992 under treatment at different hospitals of the province. Shah also disclosed a new data under which he said 68.3 percent male and 31.7 percent female have been affected. “The ratio show that the male members have been affected more than the female because male members frequently go out of their homes and do not care of social distancing as has been advised by the experts,” he said and added then the male members become carriers of the virus and bring it back to their homes. Meanwhile, Murad Ali Shah telephoned Balochistan CM Jam Kamal Khan and discussed the situation arising out of coronavirus in the country. During the telephonic conversion, CM Murad stressed the need of carrying out joint efforts on the provincial level to fight coronavirus. “Let provinces fight together to defeat coronavirus,” said Murad Ali Shah. Both leaders expressed concern over the rising number of coronavirus cases in the country. Murad also decided to contact other chief ministers of provinces for joint efforts to fight COVID-19. It must be noted that confirmed Coronavirus cases on Sunday reached 5038 in the country as 86 people have died from the infection till to date, according to the national dashboard. According to the available statistics, overall 5,038 cases have been reported in the country, with 3,926 active cases. Punjab has the highest number of infections up to 2,425, 1,318 in Sindh, 697 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 228 in Balochistan, 216 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), 119 in Islamabad and 35 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir
