Islamabad International Airport witnessed widespread flight cancellations on Wednesday (3 June 2026) as several domestic and international flights were cancelled due to regional airspace disruptions.
A total of multiple flights operated by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), AirSial, Airblue, FlyJinnah, and Kam Air were cancelled throughout the day, affecting routes to major destinations including Karachi, Quetta, Gilgit, Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Kabul, and Kuala Lumpur.
The cancellations have been linked to heightened tensions in the Middle East, including Iran–US hostilities and reported missile threats involving US bases in the Gulf region.
As a result, Gulf airspace has reportedly been placed under heightened alert and partial restrictions, impacting flight clearance and routing options.
Airlines have reportedly faced operational challenges due to limited access to regional airspace corridors, longer alternative routes, and rising insurance risk assessments, which have contributed to flight suspensions across multiple carriers.
