TEHRAN – Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps has confirmed that missile and drone attacks have been launched against Israel and US bases in Qatar and Bahrain after the latter launched what they described a regime change operation in Iran.
Sirens were sounded in several areas across the country following the identification of missiles launched from Iran toward Israel, the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) confirmed in a post on X.
At this time, the IAF is operating to intercept and strike threats where necessary to remove the threat, it added.
Reports suggest explosions were heard in Tel Aviv and other areas of Israel as Iran continues to launch strikes.
Furthermore, several missile were destroyed in airspace of Qatar, which hosts US military bases. Explosions were also heard in Bahrain while no damages have been reported so far.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump confirmed that a large-scale military operation against Iran has begun, with the aim of neutralizing threats posed by the Iranian government.

“We cannot allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons,” Trump declared, highlighting the operation’s focus on destroying Iran’s missile systems and naval forces.
He further stated that the United States had taken all possible measures to reduce the risk to American personnel in the region.
The operation, launched jointly by the US and Israel, involves missile attacks targeting several key Iranian cities.
US forces have carried out strikes from air and sea, while Israel has been conducting air raids on Iranian targets. The US and Israeli assault has targeted areas including Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, Qom, and Karaj. In Tehran, thick smoke was seen rising from the city’s skyline.
In response, Iran has closed its airspace to all traffic and issued a stern warning, vowing to retaliate against both the US and Israel. The Iranian government has warned that they are prepared for the toughest responses as the conflict escalates..
Israeli Shuts Airspace
Following an attack on Iran, Israel has shut its airspace to civilian flights.
“The public is requested not to come to airports until further notice,” the Transportation Ministry says in a statement.
“Passengers currently abroad are asked to stay updated via the media and through their airlines regarding flight schedules once the airspace reopens.”
It added Israelis abroad “are requested to follow the directives and recommendations of the National Security Council.”
“As soon as the security situation permits, the airspace will reopen and flights to and from Israel will resume. Notice of this will be given 24 hours before flights are renewed.”
