The officials of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation (MoTCA) are among the delegates of the Islamic Emirate led by acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi which has visited Doha, the capital of Qatar. The visit is aimed at focusing on the contracts over management of the technical affairs of five major Afghan airports.
“This visit which includes the acting ministers of Foreign Affairs and Information and Culture and the deputy Minister of Defense will discuss the technical affairs of five major airports,” said Imamuddin Ahmadi, a spokesman for the ministry. Former deputy Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Imam Mohammad Wrimach, said he believed that handing over the technical operation of the airport to the foreign companies will boost the credibility of the Afghan aviation system. “I hope the Islamic Emirate will be able to sign this contract soon,” he said.
The economist believes that the increasing number of business flights will incentivize the Afghan economy and will benefit Afghanistan.
“Handing over the technical operation of the airports to a country—which is experienced in this regard—is effective for Afghanistan’s economy,” said Darya Khan Baheer, an economist. —Tolo News
