The head of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, has said that before January 15, Karachi and Hyderabad should be re-demarcated, if our demands doesn’t meet then we will protest on roads.

A meeting of the coordination committee of MQM Pakistan was held in Karachi, in which it was decided that a protest will be made against the non-serious behavior and un just constituencies of the People’s Party and a strict stand will be taken including informing the federation about its concerns.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, while holding a press conference after the meeting of the coordination committee, said that the prime minister should fulfill his promises, remove reservations, otherwise they will be forced to protest. What happened to our promises? He questioned.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that we have to decide in this situation whether we will fight the election by staying with the government or staying outside, it is becoming difficult to be patient now, our point in the agreement with the People’s Party was that the current municipal constituencies are not correct, pre-poll rigging is clear from them, before January 15, Karachi and Hyderabad constituencies should be redesigned.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that the People’s Party had said with certainty that our demands are 100% legitimate, if the constituencies are not correct, then we will be forced to protest on the roads, we want the local elections to be transparent and without pressure, we want the elections to be held on January 15, there should be transparent and impartial local body elections, constituencies regarding local body elections in Sindh are against the constitution and law.

The constituencies that have been made for local body elections in Sindh are against the constitution and laws of Pakistan.

Kalid Maqbool further said that The Chief Justice of Pakistan listened to our concerns and accepted our demands. We have met and held many meetings with the PPP for the last 8, 10 months, PPP accepted all our demands. The elections held under the current constituencies will not be in accordance with the mandate of the people of Karachi

Some constituencies have 90,000 people and some have 20,000 to 25,000. These constituencies cannot be called clean and transparent elections.

He warned that If there is no decision on these constituencies, we will go to the people’s court and take the road. We are also calling a meeting of our workers. We will keep all these situations in front of the workers. The workers will be asked whether we should protest while we are in the government or separate from the government.

Siddiqui said that The agreements made with us were signed by the leaders of all major political parties of the country. In this situation, it is becoming difficult for us to control the emotions of the people and advise them to be patient. My question is to the officials of the Election Commission, why have you entrusted the responsibility of constituencies to the Sindh government? This action of Election Commission is against the constitution and law.
