MoU signed for bridge financing of Govt Printing Press Peshawar

Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Economic Zones Development and Management Company (EZDMC) Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to make financial arrangements for essential repair and rehabilitation of the public sector printing press of the provincial government.

Under the agreement, KP-EZDMC will provide a sum of Rs 35 million markup free loan as bridge financing to Directorate General of Industries and Commerce for the purpose of rehabilitation and maintenance of building and repair work of machinery of Government Printing Press Peshawar.

The amount will be repayable to the company in one year time after the date of its release.

In this regard, the DG industries Barakatullah and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KP-EZDMC Javed Iqbal Khattak formally singed the same agreement while the provincial caretaker Minister for Industries, Commerce and Technical Education Muhammad Adnan Jalil was the chief guest.

Secretary Industries Commerce and Technical Education Matiullah and other relevant officials were also present in the ceremony.

It is pertinent to mentioned that, the amount will be spent for the purpose, as per the fulfillment of all codal formalities and it will make possible to fully operationalize the repairable machinery installed in the press.

Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister for Industries, Commerce and Technical Education, Adnan Jalil said that the agreement was a major step for revival of historical public sector printing press in the province.

He added that this initiative would make possible to fully operationalize the printing machinery of government press and bring the same entity as a state of the art printing press for ensuring quality printing of various government departments and other institutions demand in the province.—APP
