A motorcyclist was swept away in floodwater in Karachi’s Orangi Town after a third monsoon spell of heavy rainfall lashed various parts of the metropolis.
According to details, the incident took place in Makhdoom Shah Colony of Orangi Town. The residents of the area have started searching for the motorcyclist. Rescue teams have not reached the site so far.
Earlier today (Sunday), at least two people were electrocuted to death in the metropolis after a third spell of heavy rain lashed several parts of the city.
Rescue officials have informed that two youth were electrocuted to death in Gulshan-e-Hadeed and Landhi. Meanwhile, a 22-year-old youth was injured due to electrocution. According to details, several areas have flooded with rainwater mixed with sewage. Nagan Chowrangi, Gurumandir, UP Morr, and Hassan Square are all inundated with several feet of water.
The parts of Karachi which received heavy to moderate rain include Malir, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, PECHS Society, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Kathor, Surjani Town, Bahadurabad, Super Highway Cattle Market, Shahra-e-Faisal and other parts of the city.
