Woman among five dacoits killed in Lahore
Rahimyar Khan and Rajanpur Police, in an operation in Kacha Bangla Acha area, shot dead Shahid Lund, the head of the Lund gang of dacoits, who had a head money of Rs10 million.
Police said the slain dacoit was a proclaimed offender and was wanted in connection with 28 cases of a heinous nature such as murder, terrorism, kidnappings for ransom, attacks on police personnel and robberies.
On the other hand, applauding the police for a successful operation, Punjab IGP Dr. Usman Anwar has said that the elimination of dacoits, terrorists and miscreants was the Punjab Police’s mission.
Meanwhile, five ‘dacoits’, including a woman, were killed reportedly in an encounter in Lahore’s Green Town area.
SHO Green Town Khurram Shahzad and a constable, Asif, who were also injured in an exchange of fire, were taken to Jinnah Hospital.
Police said that members of the gang, clad in police uniform, had thrice looted people, drawing cash from banks in a week.
The Force further said that a raid was conducted on a rented house in which the dacoits lived.
