Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof. Dr. Sardar Muhammad Al-freed Zafar has said that the Punjab Government has provided 16 more ventilators to Lahore General Hospital for the convenience of Corona patients.
He added that this step has been taken to provide relief to the victims of the third wave of Corona so that the lives of the most affected and life-threatening patients can be saved.
Principal PGMI appreciated that CM Punjab Sardar Usman Bazdar and Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid gave special instructions in this regard in the light of which a 20-bed HDU in the LGH’s Pulmonology Ward and a 5-bed isolation ward in Medical Unit 2 have also been added where doctors, nurses and paramedics will perform their duties round the clock.
Prof. Al-freed further said that this timely action of the Government reflects the spirit of compassion and service to humanity for the patients of Corona for which the Government is always vigilant to fulfill its responsibility under which more ventilators have been provided.
MS Dr. Abdul Razzaq, Prof. Judat Saleem, Dr. Irfan Malik, Dr. Jafar Shah, Dr. Abdul Aziz and others were present on the occasion.
Principal LGH directed the administrative doctors to be alert in the discharge of their duties.
The provincial Government is monitoring the treatment of the patients of Corona at all times so we all should perform our duties diligently.
He stressed that as per instructions of the Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education, all patients will be provided free diagnosis and medical facilities
He asked the DMSs of the three shifts to set up wards for Corona patients, HDU, Isolation and keep an eye on the facilities at the ICU so that no one who comes here gets in trouble.
Prof. Al-freed said that he himself will continue to visit Corona Ward and it will be ensured that the medical facilities upgraded by the Government are being provided to the corona patients directly.
