Moonis Elahi lauds Japan for cooperation in water sector

Federal Minister for Water Resources Moonis Elahi has said that Pakistan is highly grateful to Japan for extending its all-out cooperation in various areas of national development, in particular the water sector.

He said that JICA is playing an outstanding role in strengthening Pak-Japan relations.

The federal minister was speaking during a meeting with the Japanese envoy to Pakistan H.E Mr. Wada Mitsuhiro here on Wednesday.

Secretary Ministry of Water Resources Kazim Niaz was also present in the meeting.

Making a special mention of Japanese technical and financial support to Pakistan, Moonis Elahi expressed his gratitude for the long-term cooperation in Pakistan’s water sector development and hoped that Pakistan would soon be able to overcome its water sector issues and challenges and be able to develop its water sector on modern lines with sustained Japanese help.

Responding to Moonis Elahi’s remarks, Japanese Envoy Mr. Wada Mitsuhiro thanked him for providing an update on the progress of water sector in Pakistan and assured him of his personal support to further enhance this collaboration.
