Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to the Kashmir Valley tomorrow is negatively impacting the education of students in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, amid heightened restrictions, the University of Kashmir and Central University of Kashmir have been forced to postpone all examinations scheduled for tomorrow (March 7).
The postponement, as notified by the University of Kashmir, encompasses all examinations originally slated for Thursday.
Likewise, the Central University of Kashmir has declared the postponement of exams for tomorrow. This decision comes amidst an atmosphere of fear and harassment stemming from increased frisking and body searches at checkpoints across Srinagar and other districts of the Kashmir Valley.
In addition to the disruption faced by students, Modi’s visit is also adding to the woes of motorists and commuters in the valley.
In nutshell, the scheduled visit presents a considerable challenge to students in adhering to their academic schedules.—KMS
