In order to get a legal cover for its decision to ban Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League headed by APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, the Narendra Modi-led Indian government has constituted a so-called tribunal consisting of a handpicked Delhi High Court judge for the purpose.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the JKML was declared outlawed by the Modi government on December 27 under the draconian law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 for five years.

The organisation was declared banned for its pro-freedom activities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In continuation of the Narendra Modi government’s ongoing drive to grab Kashmiris’ land on one pretext or another in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities on Tuesday attached an immovable property belonging to a civilian in Kulgam district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the attached property consists of an under-construction house located in Buchroo area of the district. The house belongs to a Kashmiri man, identified as, Barkatullah Mir. Interestingly, the authorities have accused the man of being involved in anti-social activities.—KMS
