ISLAMABAD – Model City Housing Society faced action by the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) after repeated violations of the Sales Tax Act, as authorities are not holding back, targeting businesses and housing schemes that dodge their taxes.
Amid tightening noose against tax evasion, Punjab Revenue Authority sealed Model City Housing Society in Khushab under sweeping crackdown targeting businesses and housing societies that have flouted tax obligations.
A spokesperson of Rthe evenue Authority said the detailed report on operations has already been submitted to senior officials, signaling the authority’s uncompromising stance.
PRA Commissioner warned that the campaign against defaulters is far from over. “Our zero-tolerance policy for tax evasion is in full effect,” he stated. He urged all defaulters, especially those who have already received tax notices, to settle their dues immediately.
On the other hand, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken drastic measures against University Town Housing Scheme. All unauthorized allotments and illegal sales have been ordered canceled, with strict enforcement of development regulations demanded. RDA called for a comprehensive enforcement report within seven days and instructed the developer to refund all illegally collected amounts, including extra charges, within 60 days.
The authority made it clear that plots must be handed over to eligible allottees or suitable alternatives provided. Non-compliance, the RDA warned, will trigger immediate legal action without any further notice.
