MMC signs agreement to establish a catheterization laboratory

The Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) on Thursday achieved a millstone as it solidified an agreement to establish a Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) through a pioneering Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

The agreement was formally inked by Hospital Director (HD) Dr Tariq Mahmood in a ceremony held at the Committee Room of the Administration Block.

The hospital has signed the agreement with the Canon Company under which the company will provide equipment and maintenance etc services to the hospital.

Dr. Tariq Mahmood expressed pride in this achievement, highlighting the hospital’s accomplishment in partnering with a private enterprise to fulfill the crucial need for this facility in Mardan.

“Today marks a monumental occasion as we finalized the draft agreement, paving the way for the establishment of the Cath Lab within MMC. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all those who played a pivotal role in accomplishing this remarkable milestone,” he remarked. He underscored the significance of MMC being the trailblazer in achieving such an agreement with a private entity for the establishment of a vital facility within a public sector health institution.

Acknowledging the coordinated efforts of the committee that deliberated over the agreement’s modalities, he praised the instrumental roles of key figures including In-charge Cardiology Department, Assistant Professor Dr. NoorulHadi, Director of Finance, Muhammad Sheraz, and Manager of Procurement, Mr. Muhammad Khalid.

He said their tireless efforts and meticulous planning were pivotal in finalizing the intricate details of the agreement, marking a remarkable step forward in the establishment of the Cath Lab facility.
