KARACHI – The devastating fire at Gul Plaza in Karachi has left the nation in mourning, with the death toll rising to 26 and more than 80 individuals still missing. As the rescue operation continues, a miraculous moment was captured by officials on camera, providing a glimmer of hope amid the overwhelming tragedy.
After hours of battling the massive blaze, rescue workers entered the building to search for survivors and assess the damage.
When they reached the first floor, they were astonished to find the mosque completely unharmed by the fire. Despite the thick smoke and the intense heat that ravaged the surrounding areas, the copies of the Holy Quran inside the mosque remained untouched and perfectly preserved.
A video circulating widely on social media shows the Qurans in pristine condition, even as the rest of the building suffered severe damage. In the footage, rescue officials can be seen carefully collecting the sacred texts to move them to a safe location.

The mosque, which had been filled with thick smoke during the fire, was confirmed by rescue officials to have not suffered any structural damage.

The massive fire started on Saturday night and it has been completely extinguished after 33-hour-long operations.
The fire, which started on the ground floor, rapidly spread to the third floor of the building, causing significant structural damage.
