Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s Adviser on Minority Affairs Wazirzada has said that minorities in Pakistan enjoy equal human rights, religious, political & social freedom. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s Adviser on Minority Affairs Wazirzada stated this while addressing a joint press conference with Advisor on Religious Affairs Zahoor Shakir, Minority MPA Ravi Kumar and DIG Kohat Tayyab Hafeez Cheema over demolition of temple in Karak here on Friday.
He said the Indian media’s outcry over the demolition of the temple is deplorable. He said, minorities are being enjoying equal human rights, religious, political and social freedom. Every possible precaution is being taken to ensure the protection of the rights of minorities and their places of worship, Wazirzada further added. The government machinery immediately came into action after the demolition of the temple and 45 people, including three named accused, have been arrested since the case was registered, he informed.
The demolition of the temple was not a pre-planned but a sudden incident in which the police are conducting a series of operations to bring more accused involved in the case to justice, Advisor on Religious Affair Zahoor Shakir informed. In India, people’s honor was insecure. Every day, Muslim mosques, Sikh Gurdwaras and other religious places of worship are being demolished and human rights violations are taking place, Wazirzada said.
India should take care of its own home instead of unduly interfering in the affairs of others. Advisor on Minority Affairs Zahoor Shakir said. India should learn from the steps and performance taken by Pakistani government agencies immediately after the incident, Mr. Wazirzada said while answering a question.
He said, the Hindu community is satisfied with the government’s response and the Muslim community is also saddened by the incident. The timely response of government agencies after the temple demolition incident is commendable, he added. Timely government action gave the minority community a sense of security, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s Adviser on Minority Affairs Wazirzada said.
