Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Minority Affairs, Wazir Zada called upon Bishop Churches of Pakistan, Humphrey Sarfaraz Peters at his office in Peshawar. Welfare of minority community was discussed in detail during the meeting.
On the occasion, Wazirzada said that the religious minority community has shown utmost responsibility during the Covid-19. He said that in response to Corona, religious minority community has also closed its religious places of worship including churches, gurdwaras, temples etc. He furthered that religious minorities even implemented SOPs during thier religious festivals. He said that the provincial government and specially Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan, appreciated and thanked the religious minority community for their friendly steps towards the Government policy regarding SOPs.
Wazir Zada said that he was hopeful that religious minority communities will continue to play their role in protecting their community from the disease by implementing SOPs until the disease is completely eradicated. Wazirzada said that the minority community has always supported the government in difficult situations.
He stated that paramedical and other front line staff of the minority community during Covid- 19 also deserved tribute. He said that due to the implementation of precautionary measures taken by the religious minority community, the minority community has been largely protected from the disease. The special assistant said that the religious leaders of the minority community have played a very positive role during the Covid-19, he hoped that they would continue to play a similar role in the future. Wazir Zada said that Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was taking steps on priority basis for the development and uplift of minority community. The Bishop Humphrey Sarfaraz Peters also thanked the Provincial Government and Chief Minister KP for launching Housing and Rozgar Schemes for the Minority communities in the province.
