The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA) said it intends to provide technical training opportunities to 7,000 people in the country. Officials at the Labor Ministry in the professional skills test program said they need international assistance in this regard.

“Currently we do not have classes for women, but in the future, there are plans to establish classes in fields that are suitable for women, such as tailoring and embroidery, because education is the right of men and women,” said Makhdoom Abdul Salam Saadat, deputy minister of labor and social affairs.

“We need financial support to implement such programs. We ask for funds from the national budget, and international partners to cooperate with us in this area,” said Abdul Wahed Fayez, director of skills development at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

Meanwhile, officials at MoLSA said that holding such programs will pave the way for young people to find work in various projects. “This year we plan to recruit 7,000 people, 2,500 of whom are supported by government agencies and the rest by foreign agencies,” said Mohammad Tahir Bahir, director of the Afghan-Japan Vocational Training Center.

More than 300 people took part in a vocational skills test program organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, of which 120 will be accepted to the vocational training program.—Tolo News
