Ministry: Efforts being made to equalize imports, exports to Central Asia

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC) said that Afghanistan imported goods worth about $1.4 billion from Central Asian countries in the last year, while the country has exported goods worth $100 million.

The ministry’s spokesperson, Akhundzada Abdul Salam Javad, told TOLO news that the country’s main exports to Central Asia include fresh fruit, dried fruit, and heng, and that attempts are being made to equalize imports and exports to these nations.

According to the ministry’s statistics, Afghanistan imported $417 million from Turkmenistan and exported $1 million worth, $214 million from Uzbekistan and exported $19 million to Uzbekistan, Afghanistan imported $189 million from Kazakhstan and exported $32 million to Kazakhstan, $20 million from Tajikistan and exported $19 million to Tajikistan, $1 million from Kyrgyzstan and exported $7 million to Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan imported $315 million from Russia and exported $4 million worth of goods to Russia.—Tolo news
