Minister inaugurates Miyawaki forest, street library built by RDA

Federal Minister for Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Khan inaugurated the Miyawaki Forest and Street Library built by the Rawalpindi Development Authority during his visit to Rialto Park on Monday.

The federal minister congratulated the Chairman RDA Tariq Mehmood Murtaza and Commissioner Rawalpindi Division / Director General RDA Gulzar Hussain Shah and said that 8,500 saplings of 52 different varieties have been planted which was commendable.

“It’s a wonderful gift, and the plants in Miyawaki grow ten times faster,” he said adding the great advantage of this is that it increases the amount of oxygen and is admirable in this area of rush.

Malik Amin Aslam said that according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, one trillion plants would be planted at all over the Pakistan in the year 2022. He further said that this project is being carried out in accordance with the vision of merit and transparency of the Prime Minister.

The Minister for Climate Change also planted a “green ficus” plant.

The Chairman RDA Tariq Mahmood Murtaza thanked the Federal Minister Amin Aslam Khan. He said that RDA team has done this work very hard, no government funds were spent on it, all this was done through donation. “People will enjoy it here and the big advantage is that they will read books from the street library,” he said.

The Commissioner Rawalpindi Gulzar Hussain Shah thanked Federal Minister Amin Aslam Khan. He said that this successful Miyawaki forest will help in controlling the environmental pollution in the shortest possible time and in order to control it more Miyawaki forests will be planted in other parts of the city.

The Commissioner Rawalpindi expressed happiness over the RDA’s initiative to plant 8500 plants on Rialto Park Green Belt and appreciated the initiative of RDA. He said that it is winter now. Miawaki plants in 2022 will be the best source and helper to reduce the rising temperature in the summer season.

Chairman RDA Tariq Mahmood Murtaza presented Memorial Shield of Miyawaki Rawalpindi to Minister Amin Aslam Khan and gave a shield to Deputy Director Finance RDA Muhammad Junaid Taj Bhatti on the successful completion of Miyawaki.
