Zahir Shah Toru, the Provincial Food Minister and a prominent figure in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, underscored the government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of the people and fostering development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), particularly in Mardan, the province’s second-largest city.
During Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations at his residence, Toru interacted with local elders, party workers, and members of the community, where he elaborated on various initiatives undertaken by the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and in alignment with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision.
Toru highlighted significant achievements, including the restoration of health cards and the provision of substantial cash assistance to underprivileged citizens during Ramadan. He emphasized the pivotal role played by the provincial government in ensuring the completion of ongoing projects aimed at enhancing healthcare facilities in Mardan, such as the DHQ Hospital and Benazir Children Hospital. Assuring prompt allocation of funds, Toru expressed confidence that these projects would be completed by June this year, promising tangible benefits for the local populace.
Addressing concerns about security, Toru disclosed a recent meeting with Corps Commander Peshawar to discuss the prevailing security landscape in the province. Emphasizing the government’s responsibility to collaborate closely with security agencies, he underscored the importance of remaining vigilant to safeguard public safety and well-being.
On the economic front, Toru highlighted the proactive measures undertaken by the food department to curb price hikes and artificial inflation during Ramadan. He commended the collective efforts of administrative officers and the food department across the province, attributing their diligence to the successful provision of essential food items at reasonable prices.
