Punjab Minister for Energy Dr Akhtar Malik on Friday strongly criticised lockdown in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K) and India’s Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) 2019, terming it a direct attack on Muslims. In a statement released to the media, the minister said that the CAA 2019 excludes Muslims in a blatant violation of Indian constitution. He said that founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a great leader and thinker, who remained steadfast to the Two-Nation Theory. He said that people of IOJ&K had been facing lockdown for the last over four months and living in miserable conditions sans any basic rights. He urged the international community to wake up and put an end to continued human rights violations in IOJ&K pleading that peace in the region largely depended on solution to the Kashmir issue. Kashmiri people have an inalienable right to live with liberty and they must have freedom to do life as they wish.
