President Dr. Arif Alvi on Thursday urged the nation to observe precautionary measures and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) during Eid days to contain spread of Corona pandemic. In his message on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, he said that corona cases had significantly been declined in the country due to effective smart lockdown policies and discipline by the public.
He asked the citizens to avoid crowds in cattle markets as more caution was required to defeat the epidemic completely. The President said the government had adopted targeted smart lockdown and poor-friendly policies and provided financial assistance to the deserving families at their door step through Ehsaas Programme so that they could stay at home and follow SOPs.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the people to strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on Eid-ul-Azha to contain the spread of COVID-19. In a social media message, he said sacrifice of needless visits to loved-ones will ensure safe and blessed Eid for everyone.
He said that Pakistanis should celebrate the upcoming Eid festival with ‘simplicity’ to prevent a spike in new coronavirus cases. The Prime Minister said Eid-ul-Azha is all about sacrifice and through our adherence to SOPs, we can be savior of humanity.
In a video message, the prime minister said we must celebrate Eid with care, adding that the masses must follow SOPs, avoid crowded places, observe social distancing by exchanging Eid greetings from afar and help the vulnerable segments of society that have been affected by the lockdown.
President Dr Arif Alvi in his message, dedicated his wish to those martyred in the plane crash, to the doctors and nurses on the frontline fighting against Covid-19, to the patients affected by the virus, to the Kashmiris, to Muslims suffering in India, to the Palestinians and Muslim refugees across the world.
